In 2025, Dave is offering a submission first-aid service: he’ll identify issues that might be holding you back from publication and provide clear suggestions for improvement – looking at plot, character, stakes, pacing and more – as well as giving advice on a sentence level.
Dave is the author of 14 published junior fiction and middle grade novels (with the 15th coming out in 2025): his books have won awards in the UK and been translated into seven languages (so far).
For AU$400 (approx. 200 pounds UK), Dave will review the first 3 chapters of your junior fiction or middle grade manuscript (max. 4000 words) and a synopsis (max. 500 words), offer extensive written feedback, then meet you (in person, if you’re in or around Brisbane, or online if not) for a 45-minute session to present his recommendations, offer advice, and answer any questions you might have.
